Assam, Darjeeling, Nilgiri — and why it matters
Assam grows on river-plain soil and gives a malty, full-bodied cup with real strength — the backbone of Indian morning tea and of our CTC and orthodox lines.
Darjeeling sits high and cool, so the leaf grows slowly and turns delicate and muscatel, especially in the spring first flush.
Nilgiri hills in the south produce a fragrant, smooth liquor, and the rare winter-frost harvests are sweeter still.

How to brew whole-leaf tea
Whole leaf is more forgiving than dust — but these four things make the difference.
Measure
One rounded teaspoon (about 2.5g) per cup. Whole leaf takes up more room than dust, so do not go by volume alone.
Water temperature
Black and CTC at a full boil. Green at 80°C, white at 75–80°C — boiling water scorches delicate leaf and turns it bitter.
Time it
Green 2–3 minutes, black 4–5, white 4–5. Every packet carries its own timing on the product page.
Store it right
Airtight, away from light, heat and spices. Tea absorbs whatever is next to it in the cupboard.
